Sugar Hill will be hosting their Second Annual Community Appreciation Banquet on Thursday, December 1st. The banquet is a great opportunity for City Council and staff to thank the volunteer leaders of the community who are making great strides for our Sweet City. Members of the city’s boards, commissions, and affiliated clubs are being invited and treated to dinner by City Council and staff. Mayor Steve Edwards is grateful for the volunteers, “It is passionate people like these, who pour their heart and soul back into the community making Sugar Hill such a great place to live. I am thankful them every day and I am glad that we get the opportunity to honor and thank them. We could never repay them for their tremendous service to our city.”
At the meeting the 2016 Volunteer of the Year will be announced. Last year, the prestigious honor went to Taylor Anderson, the Chairman of the Downtown Development Authority. Sugar Hill offers volunteer opportunities for people with all interests from the Arts Commission, Historic Preservation Society, Women’s Club, Youth Ambassadors, Toastmasters and more.
