By Eric Ekpe (City Intern)

We are now three months into 2018 and we have released our event lineup! The temperature is rising, making our hunger for fun community activities increase. Here is what’s going to take place around our city this year.

Parks: Enjoy the nicer weather by going to the park. Sugar Hill has two primary parks: City owned Gary Pirkle Park (6195 Austin Garner Rd, Sugar Hill, GA 30518) and County owned E.E. Robinson Park (850 Level Creek Rd, Sugar Hill, GA 30518). Each park is local and no more than 15 minutes from City Hall. Check our website and our Facebook page for any events we may have at our parks.

Concert Series:  The City of Sugar Hill is proud to present its 2018 lineup for The Bowl @ Sugar Hill.  Artists performing this year include Colbie Caillat, Easton Corbin, Village People & Sister Sledge, Vertical Horizon, Michael Bolton, and Don Felder, formerly of the Eagles. For full lineup details and to purchase tickets go to The Bowl website: thebowlatsugarhill.com.

Maker Fest: Join Lanier High School and WOWEE on April 21st from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and experience Maker Fest and a 5k. Maker Fest is an event where creators, designers, and artists show off what they make and how they make it. This event was started by Sugar Hill’s very own Lanier High School and is the perfect way to find a new hobby to enjoy. This event is very interactive and a great learning opportunity on how to create something new.

Theater: The Players Guild @ Sugar Hill will perform a radio show called Bullet and Badges: The Best of “Old-Crime” Radio in the City Hall Council Chambers. Performances will be from March 30th through April 8th.  More information can be found at pgatsh.com.

Splash Nights: Come be a part of our newest event series: Splash Night! Splash Night is about people “making a splash” in their community and having fun while supporting the community. Splash Nights will take place on June 29th, July 27th, and August 31st in Downtown Sugar Hill. We will be partner with the North Gwinnett Co-op, the Lanier education Cluster, and our local library to help give back. There will also be food trucks, music, and other activities for people to enjoy while they help participate in main event: the Splash Park @ Sugar Hill. Check in later on our website or Facebook for more information regarding upcoming Splash Nights!
